More information2020 was the year of the online quiz and cemented the knowledge that the British public loves a good quiz night. During the pandemic, Google searches for virtual pub quizzes went through the roof and our websites saw a huge increase in visits.
The beauty of quiz nights is that they are sociable, it's something that friends, families or work colleagues of all ages can get involved with and play along together (or against each other, who doesn't like a bit of "friendly" rivalry?) either in person at a pub, at work or at home on Zoom.
The downside to organising your own quiz night is they are difficult to get right, it's easy to pitch the questions at the wrong level or have a host that doesn't really engage with the room (we've all been to those nights with the bored looking quizmaster sitting on his stool in the corner).
This is where we can help you.
We are a Brighton based business who have many years of providing quiz nights for pubs, clubs, companies, charities and families in and around London and Sussex. We are the guys behind the longest-running online quiz that we started back in 2020 when the pandemic landed here in the UK (and is still running!) and have entertained people from pretty much every continent on the planet (though, sadly not Antarctica.. yet!).
Right from our very first quiz night we have aimed to make our quiz nights fun for all of those who take part, we know everyone has a different range of knowledge and we try to make sure everyone can take part and join in. No one likes to be part of a quiz and not be able to answer any of the questions (we have experienced this ourselves - we write great quizzes but are rubbish at taking part in them).
Happy customers usually means repeat customers and to help achieve this we do our best to tailor our quiz nights to suit your venue and more importantly your customers. We're not perfect but all of our current regular quiz nights have been running for years, which to us shows we must be getting something right!
As we have already mentioned above, we pride ourselves on running quiz nights that everyone can engage with. Quiz teams should leave the quiz having had a great experience, we feel that if the average score isn't around the 60%-70% mark then we haven't done our job right! Not everyone is a wannabe Einstein and we are aware how much it sucks to be sitting at a table where everyone else is answering questions and they only get to drop in the odd one or two answers. It's boring, it's crushing and stops people from enjoying the night. This is one of the many reasons why we spend many hours researching and writing our quizzes and why we can tailor our quizzes to your venue. Running a special event? No worries, we can also cover that.
We know that you can buy pre-written quizzes for under a fiver and it's not that difficult to sit in a corner barking out questions, but can they engage the quizzers? Can they back up their answers if someone queries them? (it will happen). All of our Quizmasters have had many years in the entertainment and hospitality industry, they understand how to get a quiz started and how to keep the momentum and energy going throughout the quiz night (they are also pretty good at dealing with hecklers!).
We try to make our quiz nights as hassle-free for your venue as we possibly can, we do most of the prep work (we even help advertise for you), we usually just hook our mixer up to your sound system/PA and off we go (don't have one? Not a problem, we can bring ours), we can also plug into any TVs or projectors you have and display our questions on them.
Finally, a point we have already made further up the page is that We have been working at the same venues for years and we think that shows we kind of know what we are doing!
Don't believe us? Look at these smiley faces!
