NOT IN A PUB QUIZ
Not in a pub quiz is our online quiz night, born shortly after the UK went in to its first nationwide lockdown way back in March of 2020 and has been going every week since.
We wrote our own online quiz website (amazing what you can learn in a very short space of time and how little sleep a human can survive on whilst learning these kind of things) to give our regular quiz night goers something to do in the 2-3 week lockdown we were expecting. Since then we have grown a little quizzing community and despite lockdown having ended we still have our weekly regulars joining us every week since!

HOW IT WORKS
When we started programming the website we wanted it to be as simple and as accessible as we could make it. All you need to play along is a laptop, tablet or phone that has a speaker and a working internet connection.
We tried to keep the format of our online quiz night as close to our regular pub quiz nights, we left it up to the players to arrange their teams (how they did that was also up to them. Teams, hangouts and zoom have all been used).
Our quizmaster streams the quiz via our little network of audio streaming servers and the players tune in to that audio stream. We decided early on not to do a video stream as the bandwidth requirements jumped significantly and would run the risk of stopping some teams from playing, it obviously worked because we have had teams playing along from their tent in a middle of a field.
All answering is completed via our website (which works on most devices, phones through to desktops) and the scores on the doors moment is an almost instant event.

Our website and network of streaming audio servers can be scaled up to meet the needs of your quiz night, during one of the UK lockdowns we regularly handled over a thousand concurrent audio streams so we are pretty sure we can meet your quiz night needs.
